ECSC Welcomes Executive Board of Directors

Welcome to the board!

7/25/2024

Canton, GA - The East Cherokee Soccer Club welcomed four new directors to the EBOD. In a last minute resignation, the board had four open positions. Wes Davila, Rebecca Darling, Karen Craft, Joe Marsh were all voted into their elected positions. Chairman, Paul Roser made a motion to allow all four candidates to assume positions on the board effective immediately. The board approved the motion unanimously and the new members were seated officially last night. Also approved by the board was the expansion of field 6 and the hydroseeding of the field as well as the uniforms for the Fall 2024 season. Later in the evening the board also approved scholarships for a minimum of 2% of the registrants, this will allow a minimum of 10 players to be provided with scholarships. A subsequent pre- season meeting was planned for 7/15 at 6:30, it will be open to the ECSC community.

Decisive Weekend for ECSC Adults

 ECFC Competition Team

7/21/2024 - The ECSC Comp team and Rec team (2) finished out the summer season with some serious heat and humidity at Fowler park this past weekend. Both teams came out with some serious fight and looked to be strongest sides early despite both conceding early goals. The scoring was opened for the Comp side for ECSC by a beautiful through ball, and a marvelous finish, low and to the far corner by Rossi. Coach Rossi would pick up yet another two goals in the match to lead the ECSC Comp team to a blistering 10-4 victory. Also adding goals for the ECSC side were Feeney (2), Lord (1), Long (1). Coach Feeney added three assists to the tally, Coach Lord added another two followed by the first competition level goal by fan favorite Wes Davila. Davila's goal was at the far post after stealing the ball on a tough tackle. The shot was low, had power and dribbled through the keepers leg. Calls for Wes Davila to start his presidential campaign started just minutes after the goal was scored.

 ECSC2 Recreational  Team

7/21/2024 - With many of the ECSC2 players on IR the team played with a short bench. Wes Davila and Chris Horton anchored a solid back line with Jon Messenger between the pipes. Starting in the midfield was Coach Mike Feeney and Luke Kelley. Coach William Lord and Coach Brian Howe were solid subs off of the bench and helped feed the ferocious female attackers up front. Lindsey Davila, Angela Burt, Jena Feeney, Ciassa Wocklish and Ashley Horton all played an amazing match. Despite being down early Coach Mike Feeney ripped a ball into the top corner outside of the penalty area to open the scoring for ECSC2. Another goal for Feeney would come just minutes after with a quick tap in, right inside the 6 yard box. Coach William Lord added another goal with a power strike from long range that brought us into half time.  Shortly into the start of the second half ECSC2 was awarded a penalty and it did not disappoint. Coach Mike Feeney stepped up, froze the keeper and rifled it into the lower left corner. Another goal would be added by Feeney later in the game to seal it for the ECSC2 side. Jon Messenger made some unbelievable saves in the victory and it was a dominant showing for the entire squad. Coach Colleen Znoj (IR) also brought some amazing cookies to seal the victory.
